Species StandardsPreferred Habitat: This species is rather versatile, and can live in many climates from tundra to near tropical. Its preferred habitat is open plains and sparse woods (jungles are too dense for them). When breeding, they dig burrows underground that resemble the dens of any wild canine-like creature. Diet: Strictly carnivorous. This creature hunts in packs of other Vulticus to take down large prey. Call: These creatures make all the noises your typical dog (or wolf) makes... Ranging from whimpers and whines, to barks and growls, all the way to howls. Special Care Needs: One of the easiest creatures to care for at MML, it requires no special treatment beyond what you would give your household family pet dog. Biology and Anatomy: Having the frame of the everyday "canine", these mutts range from "cute and fluffy" to "hostile and frightening'" Like normal dogs/wolves, the different breeds differ in appearance. Long tails, pointed ears, and "small" claws, these creatures seem to appeal to all kinds of people: who wouldn't love a loyal creature of their own? Like all mammals, hair (fur) covers some part of the body; for Vulticus it's the entire frame. The coat color and length depends on the breed, red and white to brown and black. Most Vulticus have a normal body build, with long legs to help carry them quickly to wherever their desired destination may be. Sharp pointed canine fangs are hidden behind slender maws, but can easily lash out and take a chunk of flesh from the target. Hearing and sense of smell are much better than other creatures in the MML labs, yet some have poor eyesight. All of the breeds tend to all have one trait in common: that being "Having someone in command and or a companion." No one likes to be alone, and these "monsters" love to have someone to "call their own". Behavioral Study: Vulticus seem to prefer to live in packs, with the leader making all of the rules... if you are the "pack leader", then you'll find it rather easy to train your Vulticus. There are a few exceptions however... please refer to the Breed Differences. Suggested Uses: From family pet, to guardian, to fighting pit champion... The limits are almost endless with this species. |
Limited Edition (LE) Breeds
Note: These pets are no longer freely available for adoption. To get ahold of one, try the forums, or purchase one from the shop.
Domestic: The Domestic breed was designed to be a family pet and is obedient to the point of stupidity — it aims to please its "master". It is the easiest of the Vulticus to train, but is usually not skilled at hunting prey on its own. It is also not suited for outdoor life, and is in need of constant care, for it cannot survive on its own out in the wild. The Domestic breed is also most easily trusted with small children. Because of their "love-ability" however, and their constant desire to play, they were all adopted out by adulthood. |

Frostnip: Frostnip is a Vulticus that will surely be the talk of the town if you were to own it! Its fur is white as ice, with greying tips, adding just a titch of texture to its beautiful coat. Not only its coat is to die for either, its eyes are blue like the sky on a winter's day. Surely this little winter-designed Vulpine Vulticus is just right for you! |
