Species StandardsPreferred Habitat: Most Mosca prefer to be in the jungle regions of the world, where-as some can stretch themselves out into the wide open savanna lands... But wherever they live, it's always in a hot region of the world. Diet: Strictly carnivorous - eats animals ranging from creatures the size of antelope to ones the size of mice. Call: These creatures can make a large range of noises similar to your average house cat, such as meows and hisses, along with a chirping noise mothers often use to call their cubs. The Warrior breed also hefts the ability to boast an impressive roar. Special Care Needs: Baby Mosca are quite weak, and need lots of love and care. Because of their need for extra care, they usually don't live very long - unless taken care of by a good parent, or good owner. Once they reach the juvenile stage of life, they tend to be more mischievous - and get into... well.. everything, so keep an eye on them. Biology and Anatomy: Mosca are built by design to be one the most lithe but deadly forces of the grasslands. There are some slight differences between breeds, but in general they are of lighter build, quick paws, thick tails to help them balance and steer, and powerful wings that help them conquer the skies as well as the earth. Also, it should be noted -although Mosca have four wings, by the time they reach adulthood only one pair is built for powered flight. The other two wings are much smaller, having evolved to give only some extra lift and to aide in steering, and are often hidden behind the other two wings. Behavioral Study: Mosca prefer a life of secrecy... It's rumored, that in the wild, they live in tightly knit groups, but their behavior in captivity (independent) suggests otherwise. Skilled at being hunters, they seem to have a great sense of pride, which can be easily damaged... Also, more intelligent than the Estharne, be careful not to hurt their pride - for they might understand an insult! Suggested Uses: Frequently owned and used as a "hunting companion"... sorta... similar to a falcon that catches doves, the Mosca catches larger prey for its owner.. if trained properly.. They're also used in races.. |
