Species StandardsPreferred Habitat: Inkrum live at the seashore, be it beaches or sea-cliffs... They nest on the sandy shores, but to escape danger, are perfectly able climbers and climb the hazardous cliffs with perfect skill. Diet: Although their preferred food is bamboo, they eat very little of it as their preferred habitat is the sea-side, and there is little to no bamboo there.. They rarely go inland to feed, but are able to store lots of food within their shell. Call: These creatures have not been known to make any noises. Special Care Needs: Because they are quite sturdy, these creatures are difficult to damage... You could probably drop one 200 feet and it would not suffer any damage. They can withstand a great amount of weight as well, as one could have a car placed on top of it, and its shell would still not be crushed. However, this sturdy body also provides a stubborn mindset, and many owners have as much of a difficult time training one as one would have with a mule. Biology and Anatomy: The Inkrum is a curious creature indeed, many mysteries surround them as they have supposedly died off, but some people have seen these majestic shelled creatures upon the beaches playing and sunning themselves. They are shelled, yes, like a turtle which is their main defense against any creature or attacker (if it is humanoid in nature) and also serves as their "home" when they are out and about. Wings adorn each side of this protective shell, they are feathered, like a bird, and sure enough they can carry this creature flying if need be, assuring any owner that they are indeed light despite their heavy appearance. The only parts of their body unarmoured are their six legs and their ears which are always sticking out from their shell. Their ears are delicate so keeping them with a Seeker is not a good idea (even though they are heavily armoured) Any owner should take pride in their shells seeing as they are very rare to see and any person could be proud of their shining armor, besides, they can't clean it themselves all too well. No one really knows what's in the Inkrum shell as they never seem to come out to say hello, even to their owners! Behavioral Study: Excellent jumpers, they attack their predators by leaping at their foes, and hurling their own shelled body at them. Little damage is ever done to the Inkrum this way... It does not really do any damage to their predators, but it is a spectacular scare tactic. The Inkrum love this activity so much, that it is not uncommon to see several Inkrum playing "leapfrog" on the beach, which is quite the sight to see (like a jumping beetle). Although they are a shelled creature, they are anything but sluggish - though, one of the least dangerous creatures you could encounter. Suggested Uses: Their cliff climbing ability is sought after by mountain climbers - for this creature is very sturdy, and able to climb a sheer cliff, even with a full-grown man holding onto it's back... Almost a free ride for anyone wishing to scale a dangerous cliff-side. |
