Species StandardsPreferred Habitat: The Tat-Lung seem to only swim in fresh-water, and cannot survive in salt-water... Most people place them in simple shallow ponds for easy viewing. When Tat-Lung reach their "mature" stage of life however, their bodies are no longer limited by the water it seems - and some can even take to the skies! See details in breed differences for more information. Diet: The Tat-Lung eat all sorts of bugs that stick to the surface of the water, and can be fed industrial fish food... Once they reach their juvie stage of life, they start to eat smaller fish, and even (very shiny) stones they find at the bottom of their pond. In their "mature" stage of life, the Tat-Lung seem to enjoy eating shiny stones and gems - as well as fish, poultry, and fruit.. it really depends on the breed, so check below. Call: The Tat-Lung make no known noise when they're babies - but when juvies, they can make a hissing noise on rare occasions. Once the Tat-Lung reach their "mature" stage of life however, their vocals change dramatically! Anywhere from a beautiful sound of a low gong or bell (or even whale-song), to the higher pitches of a violin in its most beautiful form... They can even make a growling rumble like thunder in the sky, or hiss like the crack of electricity, or the serpents of hell! Special Care Needs: There are no special care needs at the baby or juvenile stage of life - other than to make sure to keep the water clean, and never let it freeze... In the "mature" stage however... Well, they require a lot more attention... But, such information has yet to be discovered - I hope you raised yours well! Biology and Anatomy: Tat-Lung can only be described as beautiful, in any stage. With glossy, shining scales, or shimmering fur, they almost immediately draw all attention to themselves, and hardly ever seem to mind. Being as intelligent as they are, it's not uncommon for them to come across as vain, but who could blame them? Each Tat-Lung breed is unique, but they all share some common characteristics. Large, elegant heads, with wispy tendrils that form along the nose of the creature, and long ears. Most breeds have horns that jut from their skull, and each year, they shed them for a new, larger, and even more imposing pair. Long and lean, Tat-Lung are regal in their appearance, and very proud of themselves. Behavioral Study: The Tat-Lung seem to be more intelligent than the average fish, but it's really hard to tell, as they tend to stay by themselves.. but those who are dedicated to training them know that they are perfectly capable of being trained. When they mature however, they are majestic, beautiful - and hold the highest amount of animal wisdom, to the point where one would swear they were more intelligent than humans! They LOVE pretty things, and prize them more than most things in the world. Suggested Uses: At their younger stages of life, they seem to be nothing more than a neat pet to display... However, when they reach their majestic "mature" stage, things change... Oh, how they change! These creatures are FINE companions, and each one holds its own special abilities.. you should read below to help you understand them more. |

Dynasty: The Dynasty is "snoody" - for lack of a better term. It is the Tat-Lung that would be most likely to actually read a book.. and, for that matter, keep a catalogue of all books within your library, and where they go on the shelf.. They tend to have a "better than thou" sort of personality, but with a loving owner - they can overcome that... for their owner. |
