Species StandardsPreferred Habitat: The Gallor are found in various places of the world, each breed with it's own habitat, please check breed differences below for details. Diet: Gallor will only eat meats - and are picky eaters at that.. they won't eat anything "processed", so industrial carnivore feed is out of the question... Even the most friendly of Gallor eat meat! So don't be deceived by bright colors, and buy fruit! Call: Gallor make all sorts of cries, usually the kind that reminds one of the great eagle's "tseeear" - but sometimes, it's rumored that an angry Gallor can roar gallantly, to frighten away opponents.. and.. it's also rumored, that they can purr. Special Care Needs: Gallor are very vain creatures, and need to be groomed frequently... Make sure to pet them often, and oil their feathers, and brush their fur... If you don't, they get grumpy, and a grumpy Gallor is never a good thing... Juvenile Gallor are especially tough, as this is the age when they start to explore everything! Be prepared to have them knocking over vases, digging in potted plants, jumping up on counters, and using your sofa as a scratching-post! Biology and Anatomy: Gallors are a delicate balance between a bird and a feline. They have a basic body structure of a cat, but with bird claws and head, and wings sprouting from their shoulder blades (the Aptery breed being the only exception). They all have cat-like tails, which are used to aid in steering while in flight, as well as balance. Their bones are hollow like a bird's, so as to keep them aloft while flying. However, as with the bumblebee, many people say that they shouldn't be able to fly. Non-retractable claws and a sharp beak keep them safe from natural predators, and deliver the killing blow to prey. Gallor have cat-like ears, which can rotate in almost any direction, giving them keen hearing. Their eyes are more akin to bird's, though they do have the feline's ability to see in the dark. If you shine a light just right, the Gallor's eyes will glow. Behavioral Study: Though extremely vain and high tempered, once in a group, Gallor work well together. There's usually one lead male in the group, and several females... One might be reminded of lions - where the female is the most important part of the group, but the male is much needed as well, and the core protector. Males can get along together, but are usually too territorial to try - it's best to introduce males at a young age... Though males are the "protectors", they tend to be more relaxed when around family, and can be the most affectionate, where as the females are usually more independent - though great group workers. Suggested Uses: Many use Gallor as fighting companions, such as one would use a lion.. the Dauntless Gallor is rumored to be used as a flying mount when an adult, and the Glamour.. Well.. it's just for show, and is often used as an exotic pet. |
